Corey Witherspoon Obituary, Death Cause – A memorial service will be held on Friday in honor of two members of the Stuttgart military community who were killed in a car accident on the previous Sunday. Both men were on their way to a new assignment when the accident occurred. The funeral for Corey D. Jackson and Shawn D. Witherspoon will be held at Patch Chapel on Friday at 3:30 p.m., and both men’s services will begin there. Shawnita L. Jackson, who is currently serving as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, is Jackson’s partner. Jackson is a member of the Jackson family.

Witherspoon, who is now 19 years old, had attended Patch American High School and worked at the Burger King that is located at Patch Barracks in the past. They had just left Darmstadt and were on their way back home. Witherspoon’s father often referred to him as the “kind of person who always wanted to make people laugh,” and he lived up to that reputation. Everyone he interacted with from that point forward would be completely familiar to him. Up until this point in his life, the young man had spent all of his time living in Germany. On Sunday morning just outside of Heilbronn, a collision between a truck and the vehicle in which two men were traveling resulted in the men’s deaths. The fire that followed the collision occurred on the autobahn. Accident occurred at approximately 7:40 in the morning while Witherspoon and Jackson were traveling in a vehicle of the American kind. It was impossible for the rescue professionals who were working at the scene to get the Americans out of the building because the fire was so serious.
