Eva Mendes calls parenting her two daughters with baby daddy Ryan Gosling “maddening.” The actress gave a rare insight into life with her girls, Esmeralda age 5 and Amada age 3, as well as her long-time love.

Mendes and Gosling may be Hollywood stars, but when it comes to raising kids, they endure the same craziness as everyone else. She clued fans into her and her man’s approach to parenting when the Hitch star stopped by Access Daily on Thursday.

“It’s so fun and beautiful and maddening. It’s so hard, of course. But it’s like that feeling of you end your day, you put them to bed and Ryan and I kind of look at each other like, ‘We did it, we did it. We came out relatively unscathed. “I’m so thankful I have the opportunity to be home with them,” the brunette beauty shared.

The couple is notoriously private when it comes to their family. Mendes and Gosling rarely discuss their children, and they have worked hard to shield their little ones from the paparazzi. Once in a blue moon, the famous duo will talk about each other during appearances.

“Right now, they have every bug. They just like a lot of arts and crafts, a lot of painting. We have instruments around. They pick them up, and we can’t say they actually play anything, but it’s just a playful environment,” Mendes expressed.

Even though their lives revolved around their children, the Hollywood couple does manage to get in date nights. They are lucky her family lives in Los Angeles and his family visits from Canada often.

Mendes and Gosling don’t have nannies to help out with their girls either. There is no question they can afford to hire help. However, she chose to step back from acting when Esmeralda was born.

The 2 Fast 2 Furious star did admit last month she is ready to get back in the game though. There is even a chance she would work again with Gosling. The two met when they worked on the film, A Place Beyond the Pines.

“He’s just such a creative genius. There’s always stuff going on there, but I would love to at any time. I would audition for him any day,” she revealed.
