Just weeks after Felicity Huffman went to prison for eleven days for her role in the college admissions scandal, her oldest daughter Sophia Macy has been cast in an upcoming episode of Jordan Peele’s reboot of The Twilight Zone.
According to In Touch Weekly, Macy will appear in the episode “Among the Untrodden” with actress Abbie Hern, and the news was announced at the winter Television Critics Association press tour earlier this week.

Macy also announced the news on Instagram with a promotional pic for the upcoming season that featured numerous stars like Joel McHale, Billy Porter, Gillian Jacobs, and Tony Hale.

Considering the fact that the 19-year-old’s mom paid $15,000 to have Macy’s SAT scores altered so she could gain entrance into an elite university, social media isn’t too thrilled about the casting news.
Some fans wrote messages of support, telling the teenager that they were happy for her, and she deserves the opportunity. But, there was also some serious backlash from people who were “disgusted” by Macy’s privilege.
One person wrote that Macy cheated her way into college with the help of her parents and landed a role on The Twilight Zone, while hard-working college students don’t have wealthy parents and will “probably struggle for years.”

Another person wrote that they had to drop out of college with a 4.0 GPA because their mom ran out of money and they didn’t qualify for financial aid.
“Your privilege disgusts me but it also causes me to pity you. You really don’t know how insufferable you are,” wrote the unhappy fan.
In addition to spending 11 days in prison at the Federal Correctional Institution, Dublin, the Desperate Housewives alum was also ordered to pay a $30,000 fine and must perform 250 hours of community service.

Felicity Huffman pleaded guilty in April 2019 to charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud. In addition to Sophie, Huffman shares 17-year-old daughter Georgia with her husband, Shameless star William H. Macy.
