In tonight’s Magnum P.I. episode, Magnum’s friends figured out he was in a secret relationship with Juliette. They found her necklace under his bed. They put two and two together from that alone, but Kumu wasn’t entirely sure the guys were right about this one.

She felt there were plenty of reasons why Juliette’s necklace could have been there. Juliette did live on the property. She ran it. She also works with Magnum as private investigators and so there could be a logical explanation for that necklace being there. She wanted Magnum and Juliette to date just as much as the next guy. She just wasn’t going to buy into it without them saying it for themselves.

Only Rick and TC felt for sure the two were sleeping together. It also didn’t hurt that they were right to assume that because it was in fact the truth. Magnum and Juliette are together. They’ve spent years running away from their feelings and now they were happily together.

They were also still working together which made things difficult when they disagreed on how to work a case. They received a mysterious note in the mail with a couple of thousand dollars that was telling them to investigate Jack Hill. Their new client believes Jack murdered someone.

The client didn’t give a name or a return address. They just sent the money and the paperwork asking the two private investigators to investigate Jack. Juliette thought it was odd. She didn’t think they should take the case when they didn’t know who the client was.

Magnum disagreed. He said that finding out more about Jack would inadvertently lead them to their client. Magnum voted to break into the guy’s home. Juliette thought they should run DNA from the letter to find out more about their client first.

They ultimately decided to each do their own separate thing. Juliette went on to learn that their client was a woman with red hair and blue eyes. She also learned that the letter was sent from King’s Medical Hospital on the island. Mangum meanwhile learned that Jack recently had his appendix removed at King’s Medical Hospital.

He also had a woman in a bunch of photos with no women’s clothes in his closet. Magnum called Juliette to tell her what he learned. She told him what she learned and together the clues they had made sense.

They also found their client. Her name was Dr. Sally Cates. She was an anesthesiologist. She put Jack under for surgery and he confessed something. He confessed that “they will never find her body”. Sally went to the hospital board about it. They told her she couldn’t go to the police because it was too vague. She then turned to some private investigators because she needed to prove one way or another if she was wrong. And at least Magnum and Juliette hadn’t dismissed what she heard because they followed up on it.

They investigated Jack. They found out he was a former cop. He left the force before he could reach retirement and so they asked their good friend Gordo about him. Gordo told them about Jack. Jack’s wife died suddenly from an aneurysm. Jack began to fall apart after she died and he started seeing an escort. The escort complained about him to his bosses. He agreed to stop seeing her and that was that. Now, Magnum and Juliette thought there was a possibility he killed the escort. They looked for her. And they learned she was still alive.

Amber said Jack was a nice client at first. He didn’t want to sleep with her. He just wanted to talk and sometimes to sleep beside her. He even brought clothes for her to wear during their sessions. Then everything changed after she decided to do something different with her hair. She was a natural brunette and she chose to cut off her hair as well as dye it blonde. None of her other clients complained about the change. It was just Jack that freaked out on her and he looked like he was about to get violent. Which was why she went to his boss to complain about him.

Jack never bothered her again after she complained to his boss. But Amber had been right about him. She was afraid he was a danger to others and she hadn’t been wrong. Amber as a brunette had looked very much like his late wife. Jack tried to recreate what he had with his wife with her and, when that didn’t work out, he may have tried again with someone else. Magnum and Juliette looked up women that went missing after he stopped seeing Amber. Ones that resemble his late wife. They found out Jenny Davis worked at a coffee place he used to frequent and that she went missing a couple of days after he stopped going there.

Magnum and Juliette started asking around. Jenny’s family owns and runs that coffee place. She was working alone when she disappeared. No one has heard from her or seen her since. Magnum and Juliette knew that Jack did something to her. He was trying to recreate what he had with his wife again. Magnum and Juliette turned to Detective Childs for help. They couldn’t prove Jack did anything because all of their evidence was circumstantial, but Jenny’s family deserved the chance to bury their daughter and they got the detective to help by appealing to his better nature.

Detective Childs has taken down dirty cops before. He could do it again. The detective visited Jack and he convinced him to come in to help them with a cold case. Childs later dropped the act when he had Jack in an interrogation room with photos of Jenny on the table. He asked where her body was. He said they all knew that Jack was trying to get his wife back and he even said he lost his own wife. What he was doing was working on Jack because he made a confession before he later died of a heart attack.

Jack admitted that Jenny was still alive. It turns out Magnum had missed a hidden room in Jack’s house. Jenny was being held there and she was later rescued from the house. She was told that her captor was dead and gone. And she was reunited with her family.

Later it was revealed that Gordo will be reinstated to HPD after disciplinary hearing went well. And TC and Rick decided to stop beating around the bush.

They asked Magnum if he was with Juliette and Magnum confessed they were together now.
