Man fighting for his life after his car crashes into a truck on the DAguilar Highway

A man is fighting for his life after his car collided with a truck on a rural Queensland Highway.

Emergency services rushed to the D’Aguilar Highway near Turnbull Rd at Wamuran in the state’s Moreton Bay region at about 7.30am Monday.

Authorities believe the man, who is in his 20s, was driving the car when it collided with a truck, with the wreckage leaving the him entrapped inside the vehicle.

He was treated by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, and an aeromedical crew from the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter at the scene, before he was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with critical head injuries.

Images from RACQ LifeFlight showed debris scattered around the highway, with several crews of police, and ambulances attending the scene.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) spokesman said three crews were dispatched at about 7.25am, with the man freed from the vehicle at about 7.40am.

Two other adults were also transported to Caboolture Hospital, including the driver of the truck, who was uninjured, and a female bystander, who was not directly involved in the crash.

Police have advised motorists to avoid the area, or expect lengthy delays, Both lanes in the vicinity of Turnbull Rd back been blocked off, with Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit continuing investigations.
