Megan Fox: I turned into a really butch bull dyke

Good Lord – the editors of GQ Magazine (UK) knew what they were doing when they didn’t put the full text of Megan Fox’s epic cover interview online. For the past week, we’ve been getting drips and drabs, random quotes here and there from Megan, and it just shows how the editors are getting all of the mileage possible from Megan Fox’s extreme stupidity. Last week, the first round of quotes came out, and we heard that Megan thinks all actors are basically prostitutes. Then on Monday, we heard Megan’s MENSA-level discussion of casting couches and marijuana legalization. But GQ was waiting to release the most ridiculous quotes.

Megan is describing the “transformation” she went through when she gained some weight and took on a role where she didn’t have to perform her “only job… to look attractive.” Because that’s all being an actress is to Megan – there’s no Method, no “getting into character” – she thinks her job is to just be attractive. But then The Genius goes on – Megan tells GQ, “I went in the opposite direction. I turned into a really butch bull dyke for, like, six months … Then I went in the other direction. From being a giant motorcycle-riding lesbian, I turned into a zombie. I lost, like, 30 pounds.” Megan just loves her stereotypes, doesn’t she? A pretty girl who gains some weight and temporarily disdains the trappings of “girly” beauty is suddenly “a really butch bull dyke… a giant motorcycle-riding lesbian.” As you can imagine, this is pissing off the lesbians (it upsets me off too, so I suppose it’s pissing off the lesbian-friendly as well):

Beautiful people can get away with a lot, and if anyone has proven that over the past year, it’s Megan Fox. It seems that every week now, Fox says something so offensive, ignorant or — dare I say — stupid, it’s hard to believe she hasn’t faced any major backlash yet.

Well, let this be a call for that backlash to begin: I am so over you, Megan Fox.

While Fox openly calls herself bisexual, that doesn’t stop her from spreading her bi-phobic views (because that’s really the support we need right now) and, in the July issue of British GQ, letting the lesbian stereotypes fly:

“Really my only job is to look attractive,” Fox told the magazine. “I was so angry about that, that I went in the opposite direction. I turned into a really butch bull dyke for, like, six months … Then I went in the other direction. From being a giant motorcycle-riding lesbian, I turned into a zombie. I lost, like, 30 pounds.”

Do I even need to comment further on that statement? What is wrong with you, Megan Fox? Where do you come from?

This gem of a quote comes just weeks after her brilliant interview with Esquire, where she shared her thoughts on bisexuality:

“I think people are born bisexual and then make subconscious choices based on the pressures of society. I have no question in my mind about being bisexual. But I’m also a hypocrite: I would never date a girl who was bisexual, because that means they also sleep with men, and men are so dirty that I’d never want to sleep with a girl who had slept with a man.”

[From After Ellen, Jen Sabella’s Blog]

Obviously, Megan Fox is dumb as a box of hair. But there are different forms stupidity takes. There’s the harmless, Jessica Simpson kind of stupidity. I don’t really think Jessica is out to get anyone, and she makes an effort to be nice and polite. Then there’s the nasty, Paris Hilton-type stupidity. Where a person doesn’t get how dumb they are, and they think their nastiness is somehow funny, interesting or clever. Megan Fox has crossed into that territory for me. Megan probably thinks that her opinions of how she was temporarily a “butch bull dyke” are somehow fascinating… but those are just dumb stereotypes that further homophobia.
