Rita Ora has revealed that her long awaited second album will now be released in 2018.

Rita had previously said the follow up to 2012’s ‘ORA’ would be released before the end of the year but, during a live Q&A with fans on Facebook yesterday (August 7th), Rita broke the news of the records further delay.

“My album will be dropping very soon.” Rita said in response to one fans question.

“I do want to say the beginning of next year but, hey, surprises do come, don’t they? Because we have the internet”

Rita Ora released her first album back in 2012.

‘Ora’ went straight to number 1 in the UK and featured the singles ‘R.I.P.’, ‘How We Do (Party)’, ‘Shine Your Light’ and ‘Radioactive’.

Speculation has been rife for years as to when Rita would deliver her sophomore LP, following the release of a number of teaser singles and guest features on tracks with Chris Brown, Iggy Azalea, Charli XCX, Charles Hamilton and Sigma.

After resolving some legal disputes with her former management company Roc Nation, it was thought that the album was to be released by the end of 2016, but was then pushed into early 2017, then to late 2017, and now to early 2018.

Reflecting on that difficult time in her career, Rita said “I was going crazy not being able to put music out.”

“So I am happy to do that now and knowing you guys (fans) are still there makes me so happy.”

“The album is going to come out and it’s going to be major. I’ve been working on it for ages. There’s some amazing people on it and amazing surprises.”

It’s rumoured that Ora has worked with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Julia Michaels and songwriter Justin Tranter on the record, as well as Ed Sheeran who she collaborated with on her current single ‘Your Song’.
