The Five 'Accidentally On Purpose' Songs You're Going To Fall In Love With From The Shires

There is less than two weeks to go until the UK’s fastest selling country music act The Shires release their eagerly anticipate  third studio album ‘Accidentally On Purpose‘. The LP will drop on April 20th and has so far spawned two hit singles; ‘Guilty’ and the title track.

But after listening to an advanced copy of the record, these two tracks don’t even come close to the absolute gems you can expect on the 12 track album. Our review was published last week and now we are going to tell you the five songs on the LP that you are going to totally fall in love with.

1: Stay The Night

This stunning ballad is without doubt the best song on ‘Accidentally On Purpose’ and The Shires’ best track to date. It’s a lyrical masterpiece that was penned by Ed Sheeran that features a gorgeous laid, back guitar vibe and heartfelt lyrics that transport you to another world of pure love, and understanding. It’s a sublime track and one that has the potential to become a major crossover hit.

2: Sleepwalk

This is another ballad with an injection of infectious pop lyrics and. It’s another piece of lyrical genius that showcases the songwriting ability of the duo. Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes’ vocals are gorgeous as they lead into the chorus and it has a Lady Antebellum vibe to it which is fantastic. This is a real standout on the album.

3: River Of Love

This is a huge slice of country-pop that has a dash of the modern US sound we are loving at the moment. It starts with hand-claps that lead to a massive sing-a-long chorus. This is another one that has shades of Lady Antebellum which is no bad thing. It’s a real dose of fun and it will be a real highlight when performed by the band live.

4: Strangers 

This track is a throwback to The Shires’ earlier sound and sees Crissie taking the lead as she sings the majority of lead vocals to great affect. It’s a stunning track about wanting to go back to the start of a relationship. Ben’s vocals come in later to create a stunning harmony and the overall sound of the song is sensational. The high notes Rhodes hit are phenomenal.

5: Ahead Of The Storm

This is a stunning song that will have the listeners falling in love with Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes’ harmonies. It has a The Script vibe and overall it is a real standout on the new record. It’s a really great track that has a gorgeous piano melody and almost lullaby lyrics.
