Premiere Of Fox Searchlight Pictures' "Ruby Sparks" - Arrivals

One of the breakout stars of HBO’s True Blood has been Deborah Ann Woll, who plays innocent-turned-vampire Jessica Hamby. The 29-old actress has made Bill’s progeny one of the show’s most beloved characters. The show, which is currently airing it’s seventh and final season, introduced the world to this talented lady.

You may have worried about missing Woll once the show ended. But she was recently cast in her first major role outside of the series. The red-headed beauty landed the female lead in Marvel’s upcoming Daredevil series. She will be starring as Karen Page in the Netflix-distributed series.

Karen Page was introduced in the very first Daredevil comic book and was the longest-running love interest of Matt Murdock, Daredevil’s alter ego. There was a brief glimpse of the character in the 2003 Daredevil film, which starred Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner and is a comic book movie adaptation that is considered a flop. But the upcoming series is the first time Page’s character will be actively portrayed on screen.

On the set of Daredevil, Woll joins Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire), who will star as Murdock/Daredevil and Elden Henson (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay), who will play Murdock’s best friend and legal partner. Vincent D’Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) will portray crime lord Kingpin and Rosario Dawson (Sin City) has a role on the show that is being kept a secret.

Marvel will soon have at least three television shows on the air, including Daredevil, ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the upcoming Captain America spin-off Agent Carter. Daredevil will premiere on Netflix next year.
